Windows RAID

Hi, I hope someone who knows their stuff can help!

I want to use Parallels with a Windows RAID (i.e. the mode which uses a native [pre-installed] bare metal Windows installation rather than a VM). Is there any way this can be done, and also will the Mac using Parallels be able to act on the RAID as a RAID rather than as a single disk?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

Also, will the situation change if it is a Hackintosh (i.e. not a standard Mac)?

It would always have to be a Bootcamp partition which is not exactly the same as a dual boot hackintosh. What's the difference? The difference, besides the partition being made by Bootcamp Assistant.app is the the Volume has a GPT partition scheme with an 'encapsulated' MBR, and both schemes have to be correctly synched (which Bootcamp Assistant also guarantees).

This is what Parallels expects to find when looking for a Bootcamp partition, and you won't see any 'bare-metal' reference when it comes to this virtualization feature, but always, Bootcamp.

The RAID part is likely unimportant, if this is hardware RAID, it's normally transparent to the Operating System and the drives appear as one to it, software RAID, if it's not made with OSX's Disk Utility, I don't think it will work.

Like most OSX apps, they are made for Macs, specially the ones that deal more directly with hardware, the fact that the target hardware is something much more controlled and known in Macs makes all the difference from the 'Windows' world, where every hardware interaction possibility is a potential issue. And that's an essential part of the 'Just works' catch phrase.
