Windows XP no longer connects to the internet

I have an XP VM running on my mac (OS Catalina). This has been working well for years. I upgraded Parallels to the subscription model in 2019 or maybe in 2020. Well, I can no longer connect to the internet. I use it for a couple applications that need to be updated periodically through the internet and they no longer will update. I'm not sure if it is a Parallels issue or XP issue but I assume it is an XP issue. I have an HP laptop with XP on it (for mobile work) and it can no longer connect to the internet for the updates for the applications.

Any ideas as to how to fix this?
I have a Windows 10 VM and it connects through internet explorer just fine.
