Windows XP Start Menu fails in Coherence

I started using Parallels 7 in Sept 2011, and upgraded to Parallels 8 in Sept 2012, and today something new is happening that I have not seen before. When in Coherence, the Windows XP Start Menu no longer displays. Sometimes I see a quick flash of it, which tells me that it is trying to open, but closes immediately.

I have made no changes to my configuration since yesterday, when it worked as expected all day, as it has since I installed it.

When not using Coherence, the Windows Start Menu displays normally. I prefer to use Coherence and usually only drop out of it to fix a problem.

Please advise.
 
The problem went away shortly after I posted the issue. Unfortunately, its been so long since I posted this issue that I don't remember if it cured itself after restarting Parallels a few times, or whether I did in fact reinstall Parallels Tools. I am thinking I probably did reinstall.

And yes, it was occurring both from the dock icon and the menu bar icon.
