windows xpnot seeing what Os/x does

My parallels install on os/x with windows xp seems to work in all aspects except 1. I cannot see the local workgroup or a printer to be shared by another computer on the network from windows xp. The Mac has no problem seeing any of this and cheerfully shares shared drive areas and printers. I have parallels set to a bridged ethernet connection and it gets an ip from the switch and all internet functionality is fine. It would seem I do not have parallels configured to allow it to see what os/x does from a windows workgroup perspective. The guest is the latest version of xp sp2 and latest patch set as is os/x. Parallels version is 1970. :( any thoughts would be appreciated
 
As proof of concept, my Win2K VM sees my workgroup, and connects to printers on other machines using 1970. I can connect to both Windows machines and Mac disks via the network. I'm using bridged networking. Your setup sounds as if it should work.

You could try going to a Windows command prompt and doing an ipconfig /all and post the results to see if anyone can come up with a thought or two.

Been awhile, I needed to get work done so I have lived without the printer, but now I need it so the ipconfig is below. Symptoms are still the same as described in the original post

I figured out a solution. Installing the Bonjour client in windows xp.Once done the printer was visibile and all the usual windows printer mechanisms worked.
