Hi Gang-
Very recently had the HD of my MBP go belly up on me (which was still under warranty
). Fortunately I backed up my working files for both OS X and WinXP, so I figured the biggest pain would be restalling WinXP/SP2. Well my attempts to install windXP on rev 5160 fail with the following error message:
Begin----
Installation Failed: D:\I386\asms. Error Message: The device is not ready.
xxx
Fatal Error:
One of the compenents that Windows need to continue setup could not be installed.
The device is not ready.
xxx
End---
I'm using the original installation CD that I bought specifically for this VM, so I'm legal. Any ideas??? I may try going back to my original rev. 1970 dmg and try installing onto that. I'm allocating 20 GB of disk space to the VM and have given it plenty of RAM. Never had a problem before.
Everything is working fine on the Mac side....of course....
Suggestions/ideas are all welcome!
