WinXP ver 4 Image Tool Won't Work With Mac Produced HDD Files

Win7.hdd VM files and associated were created on a Mac (no longer available.) Using Parallels Desktop 4 for Windows and "Image Tool" on a WinXP machine.

Trying to get Win7.hdd VM files which are currently compressed to "expand" to "flat" or "plain" file(s). I don't need a virtual machine, just the raw data in a flat format.

Image Tool sees it, begins running it, but about 1/3 - 1/4 of the way in, throws a "Image Tool cannot process the specified virtual hard disk image." It also won't do much else with it without the same error.

Am I going to have to get a Mac to get his file expanded, or am I missing something?
