Workgroup and Internet Configuration

Hello,
I have sort of a problem. When using the Shared Connection between my Mac OSX Host and Windows XP VM I can access the Internet but I can't view the Workgroups. However, when using the Bridged Ethernet connection, I can view Workgroups but I can't access the Internet. Can someone please provide me with a walkthrough if I'm doing somethign wrong? I'd like to access the Internet and my Workgroups at the same time. Thank you!
 
While keeping the network setting on Shared Networking, I've been able to VIEW my workgroup and all of the machines on my entire network by manually adding a network place by browsing the Mac OSX host's files, but I can't interact with them as the icons are just miniature windows with smaller icons inside of each window.
