Would someone be so kind as to answer a new user's questions?

Hi. I have installed v7 using a pre-existing Boot Camp installation for Windows 7 and all seems to be working fine. I just have a couple queries about using my machine in this way.

1) Is there a keyboard shortcut for switching between full screen Windows and OS X and back again?

2) I have my Mac set up to automatically switch on in the morning and shut down at night. I would like both operating systems to be ready when I start using the machine in the morning and to shut down properly at night. Is there any way to configure this?

Any help much appreciated.
 
1) Check Parallels Desktop menu -> Preferences -> Keyboard. By default, this is ctrl-command-F.

2) Not sure why you're doing this. You should just sleep your computer. There's no reason to completely shut it down every night. If you must, add Parallels as a login item in your Account preferences.

Just one more problem hopefully somebody can help me with. I can access all my Mac folders from within Windows but strangely not the other way round.

I have an entry of "alan-pc" (me) in the Finder sidebar which only allows me to connect as a guest with limited access. I don't use a password in Windows and I have turned off Password Protected Sharing. If I try to connect with my Windows account name the dialogue box just "wobbles" and refuses access.
 
Go to Configure > Options > Sharing > Share Windows
And you can open pvm file with Parallels Mounter while VM is stopped to mount it to Finder
 
One alternate to sharing your Windows folders with the Mac guest is to simply point My Documents to your Mac's own Documents folder that has been shared with the Windows guest.

I've found this setup preferable over the years for 1) keeping all my documents in one place, thereby avoiding any problems of different versions getting out of synch; 2) not losing or misplacing any files when Windows locks up or goes funny; and 3) simplifying file management for backup purposes. So generally the only files I keep on any of my guest systems are the guest OS's own OS and application files (.exe, .dll, .ini, etc). Any of my working files are kept in one place on the host, and are then accessible from the host and any other guest machines (though note that you should only ever access a single file from one app at a time -- otherwise you can corrupt the file).
