We are running software who's data becomes easily corrupted if "write caching" is enabled for the disk on the Windows OS. When running Windows on Parallels, "Enable write caching on the disk" on the disk's policy cannot be disabled for the virtual disk. Why is that, and should I be concerned about the data damage issue that this software suffers from with this feature enabled?
I don't think that would do any good. As I understand it, "write caching" is a hard disk feature that is enabled / disabled through this interface. My guess is that it is continuously on because this is an "issue" with the hard disk.
