    Hello,
I am new to Parallels so please excuse any wrong terminology. I have an old (2015) MacBook Pro that still has MacOS but I just started running Mint Linux within Parallels on it. My music collection is stored on a 1TB external drive on XFAT format (because I read that that is cross-compatible). I have not yet attempted to use it. I would like to play my music using Mint/Clementine from Mint within Parallels. I have read that XFAT is not a reliable filesystem for day to day use, because it has no journaling, although it is OK for moving things from here to there.

Will Parallels/Mint support running my music collection from an external USB drive? Which filesystem should that drive be on, for best results? Is there a filesystem that both Mint and MacOS will read?
    Thanks for any tips,
    Mary
