XP installation question

Newbie question! While trying to install XP on a New Macbook (2Ghz, 512MB, 60GB), the installation didn't proceed to completion. Looking through the forums, I found that this could be due to the low memory and therefore, I plan to upgrade to 1GB and try to reinstall today. Should I reinstall on top of whatever is already installed or do I need to delete anything before starting again?
 
If the XP install failed to complete and you have to do it over again, it would seem the cost of starting fresh would be pretty small, so that's what I'd do -- delete the entire VM and recreate it (with more memory of course).

Yeah, you should add more memory to your MacBook and then assign at least 256MB of memory to your Windows XP virtual machine. Delete the original VM and start with a new one.

Thanks. I deleted the old VM and created a new one. After installing 1GB memory, and allocated 512 MB to VM, the installation worked like a charm.
