    Hi Folks !

Got a big problem here: my USB-tapedrive "HP 7438A DAT72" does not work properly in NTbackup while using Windows XP Professional under Parallels 5.

It is not possible to read from existing tapes or creating media catalogues. Backup writes work properly, but even when I try to read from the tape, the tape is ejected and an error message is displayed, that the requiered tape is missing.

I don't understand this, because it's just an ordinary USB-tapedrive and in native Windows XP everything works fine...???

It seems that the USB tape commands are not transmissed complete to the drive. Is this an USB issue from Parallels ?

    Can anyone help me ?

Maybe the USB driver for the tapedrive doesn't like the timing or performance differences in the virtual machine. Did you check with the tapedrive manufacturer whether or not it's compatible with VM's?
