    HI,
I have an issue where after I reboot my Windows 7 VM, I get this message. Every time.

    2013-12-11 09_44_30-Parallels Shared Profile.png

I want those selected folder to be shared between my Mac and VM so I don't wish to turn off the Shared Profile feature.
I have a my own Parallels 9 VM on my home computer set up in a similar way (only not for work) and it doesn't do this...

Do the usual: uninstall and reinstall Parallels Tools.

Oh, I should add, this VM was imported from VMware.

Today I discovered that I don't even need to restart my system to get this message to pop...

I logged out of the effected user account, logged into to a different user account. It did not show up. Then I logged out of that one and back into my main account, and poof it popped up and forced me to log back out and back in again... this is user account specific. And I'm not eager to try and rebuild all my customizations to my main user account...

Don't worry about the registry fix....

I found that this post started a while back. I ran into this issue today when I enabled sharing on my MacBook Air. I found that just move the Shared User window out of the way, open up your Uninstall Programs window and uninstall Parallels Tools. I restarted Windows and Parallels. It will prompt you on the bottom right where the wheel icon is to install Parallels Tools. Reinstall Parallels Tools, restart and worked perfectly. No need for any Registry fix from there on..

I have tried the uninstall reinstall once so far. no change. but perhaps I will try again as you suggest when the message is displayed.

I have the same problem. I don't remember how I found this, possibly a log entry that I cannot relocate. I have a new Mac. In the course of migrating files to the new machine, my user account name was changed, including the short name. I think the Parallels problem has to do with the fact that it cannot find the old path name, so the Mac-side folders are not where it expects to find them.

What I don't know is how to fix this, and I'm getting desperate. I'm afraid that changing my account name back to the old one (using the correct procedure) could lead to more problems, so I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you. I followed the steps at http://kb.parallels.com/114915. But when I tried to install Parallels Tools, the system looked for it on a CD/DVD - the Windows DVD drive is of course empty because I installed Parallels from the downloaded disk image (ParallelsDesktop-9.0.24172.951362). I cannot find any other way to install Parallels Tools. Do you have any suggestions?
