I have no problem waiting a little longer but I have an urgent need to get a VM solution on my linux server. I would love to use Parallels, having been a user since the original Mac Beta but there are some deadlines that are not under my control.

I appreciate your responding though - at least I know someone is listening.

I don't see how changing the shell used to invoke the configuration utilitiy could possibly affect the compilation error. The problem is presumably due to a change in the definition of a driver structure (I haven't read the actual code to see what's wrong)

We are investigating this on all popular Linux distros, it can take several times, but we will provide solution , please wait

VMWare workstation installed on my Fedora 9 with no problems other than inability to support drag/drop from host, a feature I don't care about.
I would still have preferred to use Parallels so as to be compatible with the Mac version where I already have several guests running, but I can't afford to wait any longer.

We are planning new version for Windows and Linux workstation, it will be Parallels Workstation, and most probably all current users are eligible for free upgrade, please note this is preliminary information

Just FYI, no go on openSUSE 11.0 32 bit.

Is there any idea of when this new version will be coming, as I need to have VM and would lve to use Parallels.

Yes, this is not distro related, this is kernel related, we are aware about OpenSuse 11

I tried VMWare Workstation and it worked perfectly on Fedora 9. I kept it in evaluation mode as long as I could in the hope that Parallels would come out with a fix to address the problem but ultimately I had to register the VMware version as I couldn't afford to not have a VM available.

    Open Suse 11.0

I've got Parallels workstation 7.0 working on SuSe 11.0 32 & 64 bit. Installed IE, Quicken 2008, and Quicken Rental. They all seem to work.

    I hope you are right.

I am checking the Parallels website each day to see if something is announced about Parallels workstation.

I am desperate to get support for x64 as a host os.

So I hope that there will be updated news soon.

Installs where 2222 would not on Kubuntu 8.04.

USB support? Not an option in the hardware add.

    Ahem...

What can you say now, John? Still waiting to use Parallels on my Fedora 9 (2.6.25.6-55.fc9.i686) box. Apologies if this has been announced/resolved elsewhere. BTW, IMHO, one should not have to work so hard to find this info, i.e. it should be on the Downloads page, warts and all if there be warts.
