    Hi,

    I'm using Parallels 4.0.3846 (August 29, 2009) with Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a 2008 MacBook Pro.

My guest OS is Windows 2003 Server, but the problem happens in other guests too.

I am experiencing intermittent network issues using Bridged networking. When trying to access local network resources (file shares, etc), Windows complains that it cannot connect; I try 2-3 times and it works.

Sometimes I cannot get connectivity at all and restart - try 2-3 times again - it may or may not work.

Once connected, things will be ok for some time (anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours) and then break again.

    * I have disabled the Firewall on Mac OS X and in the guest.
    * Changed the guest's mac address
    * Re-installed parallels tools
    * ran ipconfig in various forms
    * updated the guest's network driver

I have to work in Bridged mode, so shared is out of the question.

Any suggestions about how I may be able to fix this?

Does during this behaviour some another intensive network activity occurs? Whether "Network" icon on the Parallels Desktop blinks actively?

    Activity

No, there's very little activity on the network card when this happens.

When I try it in VMWare it works every time and is consistent - no changes in the Mac OS configuration either.

Actually, I see one place that may cause this behaviour. I don't know why, but on some systems AirPort networking sometimes goes up/down without any reason (at least I don't see it). This causes reconnection of ParallelsNetworking.

Definitely it is an issue for Parallels. Thank you for the report.

I'm working with Parallels 11.2.2 and macOS 10.12.4 8 years after this "issue for Parallels" was listed here and I hit the same problems. It'll work well for a while (minutes or hours) in Shared or Bridge mode then become useless (or near-useless) until I switch modes (and back). It makes the VM extremely frustrating to deal with! I really don't care about new Parallels features - I just want the networking to work consistently and reliably. Given that eight years have past since this was brought up, please advise a forecast for when this bug will be fixed.

We would like to know the guest OS you are using with Parallels Desktop.

The main one is Windows 10, but I've hit the same problem with CentOS as well.

Try changing the network adapter in VM configuration and check.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've now tried all four options available, and found all four to have the same intermittent network problems. Please advise when the problem will be fixed or which steps to take next.

Please advise next steps, or when the bug will be fixed. As it is it's practically useless as I cannot download the software I need!
