Recently updated Visual Studio, not sure if that caused the problem, but now Windows 10 not responding to mouse or showing the cursor. macOS High Sierra v10.13.3 Windows 10.something (can't tell).
Hi RandyG3. Please shut Windows down (navigate to Actions -> Shut Down in the virtual machine menu on the upper left), open the virtual machine configuration window, navigate to Hardware -> Mouse & Keyboard, select 'Don't optimize for games' for 'Mouse' and disable 'Mouse pointer sticks at window edges' and 'Smooth scrolling'. Close the window now and check for the issue again.
No change, at least not for the better. There's a pointer there, but doesn't move. I also have a window that says "Windows cannot access \\Mac\Home\Desktop", but of course I can't click on it.
Please disable the antivirus/firewall application on your Mac (if any) and refer to this article to reinstall Parallels Tools which should resolve the issue.
I have the same problem I have done everything recomended above but the mouse in Virtual Windows appears and when I attempt to click nothing happens and it disappears. Should I reinstall Parallels and if so can I use the same registration to again?
Maria, New person joining the thread 8/16/2020. I have Parallels Desktop Version 15.1.4 (47270) and just reinstalled Parallels Tools. The keyboard was already working and new Tools seems to have fixed the mouse problem, though the system is very sluggish and slow to respond to the mouse. I've still use Windows 7 with good response; this is a new Windows 10 install (and new to me), 10 is very slow. Memory is at 1.1/2 GB (55%) and CPU at 2%, should be fast. But I mouse click on a different window and can't reposition it without ALT-TAB 'ing to that window. Or if I mouse click back on the Mac and then back into the Windows 10 pane then any windows I click on responds (but only the first window, it's stuck again). I set the Configuration for Mouse and Keyboard as suggested above. How can I get the mouse to work correctly in Windows 10? Thanks, -deac
hello, help. It doesn't shutdown or restart if I click restart on the actions, is there another solution
I'm having the same issue when I start Wn10 in Parallels the normal mouse freezes. MacOS 15.5.6/Parallels 16.0/Tools 4.01 (3447). This was working fine before the last update. If I shut down the VM everything works. My trackball is hooked to a KVM, if I connect a separate USB mouse to the MacMini it works but I really should not need to have multiple mice.
Yes. I didn't understand the difference between Tools and Toolbox before, thanks for the link. I uninstalled Tools, I restarted the VM, reinstalled Tools and now when I have the Windows VM running I can't get to either my mouse are keyboard through the KVM, hooking up a spare mouse and a Bluetooth keyboard works. If I shutdown the Windows VM the KVM based mouse and keyboard work normally.
I have two other devices connected to the KVM and they are working normally. When I shutdown the Windows VM on the Mac the keyboard and mouse connected the KVM works normally on the Mac. It is only a problem when the VM is running.
I tried swapping the Mac to a different KVM port that was working port, the problem followed the Mac. Which is what I expected since the KVM based mouse and keyboard work normally when the Windows VM is shut down.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'mouse sensor'. The mouse works well on other machines on the KVM as well as on the Mac when the VM is not running. Start up the VM it stops working, shutdown the VM it works. Maybe I'll try spinning up a new Windows VM to see if there are any differences.
