    Very disappointed

I'm very disappointed that 3844, which was released today, doesn't include Ubuntu 9.04 tools support. We need that ASAP!

Parallels Tools Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope

I second the request for 9.04 tools. Please don't make us wait for an official release. Parallels Tools for new operating systems should be made available ASAP without requiring a full update.

    Favorite Applications

How do I add favorite applications to the menu & virtual machine list? I can't find it anywhere in the help docs. I'm running Windows XP in the VM.

    Parallels AND VMware?

Is there any problem having both Parallels Desktop AND VMware fusion installed at the same time? I own both but I use Parallels for Windows XP since VMware has too many problems with it. However, I'm getting disgusted with Parallels horrible support for Linux, so I'd like to install VMware to...

Cannot install Parallels Tools on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)

I also really need the tools for 8.04. Please get them out ASAP!

    Compressor with split disk

I use a split disk for my windows VM to make it easier to back up. I wanted to regain some disk space so I ran Compressor and I found that instead my disk image ballooned from 15GB to 19GB. I converted the disk to a single file and it was able to compact down to 6GB. Does Compressor have a...

Why isn't my WinXP C: driver getting mounted?

Do you have MacFUSE 0.4 installed? I just posted about it at http://www.mcdevzone.com/2007/06/22/parallels-doesnt-like-macfuse-04

VM doesn't appear in chooser window

I'm starting to get very frustrated with PD 3.0. I have two VMs in my folder, Ubuntu and Windows. Double-clicking the Parallels application opens Ubuntu, and if I choose Open, the chooser window only lists Ubuntu, not my Windows VM. Yet I can open the Windows VM by double-clicking the pvs file...

Linux tools? Anyone try them yet?

It works beautifully with Ubuntu 7.04. I converted my Linux VM from VMware and it worked perfectly, even though Transporter said there was no bootable OS on the virtual drive. I'm very happy with 3.0 - running Linux no longer sucks. I had switched to VMware Fusion due to the lack of Linux tools...

Ubuntu install errors with "Cannot find RSDP"

I've given up on Parallels (and I've been using it since the first beta). I'm now running Ubuntu 7.04 in VMware and it works a lot better than Linux ever did in Parallels.

    VMWare Fusion Beta 3 out

Unless Parallels improves their Linux support, I'm switching to VMware. The latest Ubuntu beta won't even boot in Parallels but I had no trouble installing it in VMware. They even have VMware tools for Linux, so the VM window doesn't capture the mouse like Parallels does when running Linux...

    Ubuntu 7.04 beta

I found the same thing. I was about to post it but I found this thread first. I'm starting to get very discouraged with Parallels and I'm just about ready to switch to VMWare since their Linux support is so much better. I was able to install Feisty in VMWare Fusion with no problems, but I...

    Ubuntu beta won't boot

The new Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn" beta CD image won't boot at all in Parallels. It freezes on a black screen after I hit enter at the boot prompt. It boots OK and installs successfully in VMWare Fusion, however. I've always noticed a difference in the way Linux boots in Parallels vs. VMWare...

Please don't do 3D like VMware!

I want to be able to run Beryl in Ubuntu for visual effects. I don't play any Windows games so I couldn't care less about accelleration in Windows. I only use Windows to run Visual Studio and Outlook.

Who will convert to VMware Fusion when it is released?

Considering a switch I'm considering switching, since I run Linux as well as Windows. Parallels Linux support is pretty bad. VMWare has tools for linux which lets the mouse move in & out of the window freely and synchronizes the click. Parallels *STILL* doesn't have tools for Linux...

    VMware Fusion

I like Parallels for Windows, since VMWare doesn't have anything like coherence mode. However I prefer VMWare Fusion to run Linux since Parallels has lots of problems with Linux. It seems that they're using all of their resources to make it better for Windows users but ignoring those of us who...

    3150 + Ubuntu = Crash

Although build 3150 works great with Windows on my MacBook Pro, it's much more unstable than any previous build with Ubuntu 6.10. Booting a Ubuntu live CD ISO or installing Ubuntu will almost always crash at some point in 3150. Just for fun, I tried using the same ISO with the VMWare beta...

Copy virtual disk image to Boot Camp

I probably won't be booting into Boot Camp, but I want to use that partition from my Parallels VM rather than a virtual disk image.

Copy virtual disk image to Boot Camp

Is there any way to clone a working XP installation in a virtual disk image to my boot camp partition?

Recently bought Parallels - so far useless

Am I the only one here who DOESN'T use any USB devices with Parallels? USB support has never been an issue for me, since there are no USB devices I want to use with it. I just want to run a few windows applications and connect to the office VPN and Parallels works beautifully for me.
