I noticed one additional aspect of the problem. The screen blanks happen exactly 60 seconds apart -- seems like it is some kind of periodic refresh that is getting screwed up.

I thought the sound lag on video might be WinXP specific, so I tried Win2K and Ubuntu Linux VMs - they both have the problem as well, so it must be at a pretty low level in the Parallels AC97 sound driver. Hopefully this will be fixed in beta5. D.

I noticed that in beta 3 as well, so it wasn't introduced in b4 - but yes, it's kind of strange - and only in VLC (WMP / SlingPlayer show colors just fine). It makes everyone look like a vulcan :-) David

Well they have to have SOMETHING left to do for beta5 :-) Fullscreen mode is great! And yes, I still get the lag on SP as well - but at least I have the lag in fullscreen now! David

That might explain the differences, then. I'm only running with 156mb on the VM (the max recommended with 512mb physical). I'm upping my memory to 2gb in the next couple of weeks, so perhaps it will improve then. Although it would be great if the Parallels team could fix it in smaller memory...

Everything is working fine under beta 3 - great work! However, I still can't figure out how to get good sync between audio and video under XP (in either WMP or Slingplayer). The video is consistently ahead of the audio by 0.5 to 1 second. I've tried varying the acceleration settings, etc...
