Is your router set to use DHCP? If so, have you tried reserving an IP address manually for the virtual machine's MAC address? Perhaps it won't change when it sees the same MAC address.

Are you trying to install it into a virtual machine to get it running again, or are you trying to install it into a brand new virtual window? If the latter, what happens when you try creating a new virtual machine through the install process, telling it where the .msi file is?
