Applications/games not working in Windows on Arm

This thread has been created to let you share your experience and findings of working with third-party apps and games in Windows on ARM.
Grok told me how to get H&R Block Business tax software to run under Parallels on Mac Silicon, and it worked!
The Start button is the main menu button on Windows 11.
Where to find it:
• It's the Windows logo icon (a square with 4 smaller squares) located in the bottom-left corner of your screen on the taskbar.
Here's what it looks like:
Quick ways to open it:
1 Click
the Windows logo on the bottom-left of the screen.
Step-by-step (continue from here):
2 After clicking the Start button, start typing:
Edit the system environment variables
You will see it appear at the top of the search results.
Click on it (it should say "Edit the system environment variables" under System).
→ This opens a small window called System Properties.
3 In the System Properties window, click the button at the bottom that says:
Environment Variables...
(It's in the bottom right area, under the "Advanced" tab.)
4 Look at the bottom half of the window. It says "System variables" (the lower box).
5 Scroll down in that lower box until you find "Path".
6 Double-click on "Path" (or click it once and then click the Edit button on the right).
You should now see a new window titled "Edit environment variable" with a list of paths.
7 Click the New button (on the right side of the window).
8 A new blank line will appear at the bottom. Type or paste exactly this: C:\Program Files (x86)\dotnet
9 Click OK (or press Enter).
10 Now move this new path to the top (very important):
◦ Click on the line you just added (C:\Program Files (x86)\dotnet)
◦ Click the Move Up button (on the right) repeatedly until it is at the very top of the list.
11 Click OK to close this window.
12 Click OK again on the main Environment Variables window.
13 Click OK on the System Properties window.
You're done with the settings!
Final Important Step:
• Restart your computer
now (full restart, not just sign out).
After the computer restarts, try opening H&R Block Business 2025 as Administrator and see if it launches

The following games I have found that do not run:
  • Tomb Raider I-III Remastered
  • Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered
  • Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered
  • STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II - Mysteries of the Sith
  • Tomb Raider Chronicles
  • X-wing vs Tie Fighter: Balance of Power
  • Jedi Knight Dark Forces II
  • Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation
I just tested these games in Parallels Desktop 27 and they all now work, at least initially.

The isle [evrima] doesn’t work. I believe it’s due to easy anti cheat but the error is ‘unsupported machine (ARM64)’ is there any fixes or workarounds?

Thanks

Hello guys,
I have seen people on youtube running Warface on Parallel, it has anti-cheat.. But now I tried it but I see this issue on my side..

The driver has been blocked from loading

What to do any possible way to fix this issue?

Hi all!

While this sounds like a pedantic and unnecessary thing to do, but I find that I like playing Minecraft Java Edition under Windows 11 more than I like running the same under macOS simply because Apple's mouse and keyboard are not very good for gaming! While USB keyboards tend to work well enough, their are problems if you have set up your text input system to do things and your game is sensitive to them!!! Likewise, while a USB mouse also works fine, it's not perfect, because Apple's scroll wheel "acceleration patterns" interferes with how USB mouse scroll wheels work. So, Minecraft on a Mac—particularly on the Java platform from which Minecraft runs—isn't actually the best experience.

So, I like to run Windows 11 on ARM and Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1 because I prefer to hook up a mouse and keyboard just for playing the game! Unfortunately, any later version of Minecraft Java Edition doesn't work due to graphics driver issues: you get this fundamental problem between Java and the graphics drivers:

and the game presents a completely black window, yet the game runs and sound operates.

I would be really grateful if there is an update to Parallels Desktop 27 that addresses this issue so that the current version of Minecraft Java Edition can actually run under Windows 11 for ARM. Otherwise, I'm stuck in a 1.20.1 world, which is starting to feel stale!!!

Cheers!
