The initial release number was different, and following download and first step of installation, the install failed. Then on the second attempt the Release Number became 22635.3785, and installed flawlessly.

MS released an updated upgrade. MS does it often if you're in the Insider program. I usually check every Wednesday for a new update. That seems to be the release day.

I had paused windows updates until 06.21.24. Yesterday the update installed for me with no issues.

I have an Intel based Mac, running latest version of Parallels and have been stuck on DEV insider build 23620.ni_prerelease.240118-1056 since January 2024. Have reported it multiple times to Paralles support and to the MS Feedback Hub - No replies, no resolution, nothing at all from either company. Pretty poor state of things I would say.

I've had no problem installing the latest Dev Insider release on both Intel and ARM. Check the Insider website again. You should fin a new version.

No matter what I do, whether installing the update from the insider preview site, or downloading the most current ISO file, i get the GSOD. Have reported it multiple times and as I said before not a peep from anyone.

I just updated my ARM based VM yesterday with no problem. I'd suggest that perhaps you go to uupdump.net and download the latest Dev ISO build from there and try to install that. The problem will be that you must reinstall all software you use. There are both ARM and Intel versions available for download as ISO files there. I don't have any connection with uupdump other than a lot of gratitude for the hard work they do that's gotten me out of trouble before.

Thank you for that recommendation. I have tried that as well without success. GSOD with Boot Device Not Recognized error.

MY pleasure and glad to be able to help. That site has gotten me out of many tight spots. I'm not sure why MS doesn't post an ISO version of the ARM software but fortunately, uupdump.net fixes MS oversight.
