I'm trying to play a game on the epic games launcher through Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac (standard edition) on a M2 Pro (macOS 15.2) but I'm getting the error "dx12 is not supported on your system. Try running without -dx12 or -d2d12 command line argument."

In my googling, I found a thread that included using parallels toolbox, which I do not have a subscription for. I've also seen that originally dx12 games were impossible on the silicon macs with parallels, but recently people have had more success. However I haven't been able to determine which version(s?) of Parallels they're using. I'm not interested in getting a sub for toolbox or upgrading to parallels 20. I'm willing to do the digging to solve the launching problem, but I'm not sure if it's even solvable with what I've got.

My question is, with Parallels 18.3 on a M2 Pro mac mini, am I able to play directx12 games or should I give up?

    Thanks for your help!
