Error while accessing Hard Disk 0 used by xp

I have run various versions of Parallels on my MacBook Pro for some years now for some time with little trouble. Am now running Parallels 8 on a Macbook Pro (OSX version 10.7.5).

I am suddenly getting an error in Parallels :
"Error while accessing Har Disc 0 used by xp"
"Error ID PRL_ERR_DISK_READ_FAILED(80021029) errno 35 (resource temporarily unavailable).
The Macbook freezes.

Have tried the suggestions on the popup but they do not clear the problem.

Can anyone help me to solve it?

I am getting the same problem using Parallels 12 and Windows 10. The same or similar problem seems to be pretty common and I find it hard to believe that they are all down to hard drive failures. Here isnthe link to my post on this subject. Did you ever find a solution?
