Sorry if that's been asked before. I could not find what I am looking for.

I am considering to upgrade from PD 16 to 18. But there are two things I need to make sure before I do the jump.

    1. I am on PD 16 with MBP M1 2020 (Ventura). Will I need to do a fresh install of Windows 11?

    2. If I upgrade, will the Linux distros be replaced with the latest versions? As of now, I cannot install Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 11. I cannot install them with their latest .iso files that I download from the original sources.

    Thank you.

For those who might come across this forum looking for an answer to the question, I just upgraded Parallels Desktop from 16 to 18 and I didn't have to do a fresh install of Windows 11. The upgraded PD uses the same .pvm file. It is recommended to have a back up before the upgrade but since all my files are synched on iCloud, I didn't bother for a back-up.
