Supposedly the new update, Build 11826 "- Fixes an issue that caused Parallels Tools to require the ksuser.dll file during the installation on Windows XP." Untrue, at least for me. I still have to follow the advice here <http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=104131> in order to install Parallels Tools. C'mon, Parallels, get it together! Here's the solution that seems to work,
Same here, and everything rolled back and Parallels is now telling me it cannot identify my hardware. Awesome!
Same Issue Still the same issue and as with the other post now its rolled out all the tools that had been there.
I have tried for hours to get this stupid Parallels version 6 (11828) to successfully update by XP virtual machine and it asks repeatedly for ksuser and then XP continues to prompt me for the XP disk for half a dozen missing device drivers which it can't install because it won't read the D:\ drive presumably because Parallels Tools won't install. This is software amateur hour. I'm returning my software to OWC and going Bootcamp. What happened to Parallels since version 4? Did some large company buy it and run things into the dirt?
Hello, starfish! Have you tried solution provided in first post? I could offer you to update your Parallels Desktop to build 11990 (download from http://www.parallels.com/download/desktop/ )- it contains this fix. This build is not available in Parallels Desktop updater yet - you must download and install it manually.
