I experience the same thing with any Parallels VM in Big Sur Beta 5 and Parallels 16. Looks like we need an update.

Hi All, please change the hypervisor to Apple under VM configuration > Hardware > CPU & Memory> Advanced > Hypervisor > Apple then check.

 

In my limited use case, that did work. I was able to stop my windows VM resume change the settings and proceed to the login screen. Same with my Ubuntu VM. No more system crashes.

Big Sur 11.0 Beta (20A5354i) and Parallels 16.0 .... This stopped the VM (Windows 10) crashing when it started but now I have it loading ok but it only runs for a few seconds or until I click on the window and then it freezes Windows 10. The VM can be stopped and started and it always does the same. Had to use a different PC now because eI can not get it to work at all. Anyone else?

 

Hello, could you please update your Parallels Desktop 16 to the latest build 16.0.1. and check the issue.
