    Hi,
I want to know if I install a fresh new virtual machine with an oem key, can I transfer this machine to an other Mac running Parallels Desktop in few years without risk to loose my Windows activation? Because OEM key just can be activate 1 time on 1 machine.
But i think if i transfert the machine to an other PD client the "hardware" will not change.

    Thank you.

    Hi Jean-LouisF.
Correct. And this concept applies even to virtual hardware emulated by Parallels Desktop.
No, it won't, provided you do it this way:
1.) Shut Windows down (as opposed to simply suspending it) on the old Mac.
2.) Locate the virtual machine file on the old Mac (it is a file with the extension '.pvm').
3.) Make a copy of this file and move the copy to an external hard drive with a Mac-compatible file system [e.g., exFAT, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) etc.,].
4.) Install Parallels Desktop on the new Mac.
5.) Move the .pvm file copy from the external hard drive to the new Mac, place it under Macintosh HD/Users/(username)/Parallels, double-click on it and run it [select 'Moved' (or 'Use Current') when prompted to choose between 'Moved' and 'Copied' (or 'Use Current' and 'Create New')].
