I think there's a serious missed opportunity here to offer Parallels Desktop Lite in the Mac App Store with a one-time activation fee to unlock Windows VMs. The fact of the matter is, it's fairly easy to circumvent the restriction with some workaround, and I would rather see Parallels get some kind of compensation. Do note that what I propose would *only* offer the ability to install any OS, but not offer any kind of product customer service or extra goodies, beyond merely unlocking the option to install Windows. The same feature set that currently exists would still apply. Thoughts on this? If people want more fancy features like Coherence, bridged networking, etc, then a subscription at that point can be considered for the standard Parallels Desktop product.
