I'm trying to transfer one of my Parallels licenses from an old iMac to a newer MacBook Pro, but after deactivating and uninstalling it on the old iMac, I'm getting a message Unable to confirm the product license. You have reached the maximum number of activations available for your activation key, eventhough I've only activated that specific key once and was told I could transfer it when I needed to.

Hi Mike, please follow the below troubleshooting steps and keep us updated on your progress:
    1. Open Terminal (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app)
    2. Execute the command:
    prlsrvctl activate-license-online
    3. Now execute this command:
    sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/Parallels/licenses.xml
    4. Quit Parallels Desktop.
    5. Reboot your Mac.
    6. Start Parallels Desktop and try to proceed with the activation once again.

    Hello!

Just tried to transfer my Parallels 11 license from my old MacBook Pro to a new MacBook Pro. I deactivated and uninstalled Parallels 11 on the old MacBook Pro. When I tried to activate Parallels 11 on the new MacBook Pro, I received this message: "Unable to confirm the product license. You have reached the maximum number of activations available for your activation key."

I recently upgraded to Parallels 12 on my iMac. Could this be related? Do I have to deactivate Parallels 12 on the iMac, in order to use Parallels 11 on the MacBook Pro?

    Thank you!

We've reset the activation key. Please open Terminal (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal) end execute this command: prlsrvctl activate-license-online for a successful activation.
