    I have the same problem.

I have a new Mac Mini, Intel Core 2 Duo, Nvidea 320M GPU. Installed Parallels 6 and Windows 7 64bit. I cannot have Enable OpenGL checked in either Photoshop 32 bit or 64bit. If you enable OpenGl, the screen is completely frazzled when you open any graphic. Disable OpenGL and Photoshop runs fine....except of course you have no GPU support.

Any word on GPU support for Photoshop CS4? Any word at all from the Parallels team?

    Thanks
    Allan

I have the same issue trying to use the UDK mobile previewer. Im a little upset, since they claim to support open gl 2+, but as I have seen all over this forum it doesn't work for crap. I bought parallels 6 because my vmware couldnt run it either. I think its the display driver for Windows 7 wddm something. its the same one that vmware uses.

I have the same problem with CS5. I hope someone can shed some light on this for us.

for the udk the error says that it cant find the libGLESv2.dll file. My understanding is this is used to simulate the iphone environment with open gl 2

Still no reply? IF your product says it supports opengl shouldnt support all of it or tell people when it doesnt, so they don't waste their money on it?

    My problem is solved

I was able to get photoshop to run OK by following the direction of I-che posted on April 5, 2010 06:05 AM

The only problem is that when I open CS5 each time, the Shared profile is enabled again and I have to disable it as is suggested in Step2. Then it works. I haven't been able to get it to default to the disabled mode yet but at least it works.

    Photoshop GPU Problem

With build 6.0.11994 the GPU-problem is still existing when using Photoshop CS5 GPU enabled. It obviously is a Parallels problem because the same tearing appears when starting the new NIK Silver EFEX PRO 2.0.

Does anybody have a solution for this?

    What's about the Parallels Team?

    Herbert

    "Me too"

I too was able to solve my problem by disabling OpenGL drawing in Adobe Photoshop CS5, but now I too have no GPU support. I bought the upgrade to Parallels 6 partly in hopes of fixing this problem, so it's kind of disappointing.

    Parallels Build 6.0.11994
    OS X 10.6.7
Mackbook Pro, 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
    Guest OS: Windows 7

Parallels doesn't work with Photoshop CS5

I downloaded the trial of Parallels to ensure it worked with PhotoShops CS5 and to my disappointment IT DIDN'T!!!
I read this discussion thread and found out I had to disable the OpenGL in order to make it work. The whole reason for me to purchase Parallels was to have PhotoShop work -so glad I downloaded the trial. I would have been really upset if I had purchased this product and then found this out. Also disappointed the Parallels team has not opted in on this discussion to help users understand the problem, why it exists and when it will be fixed. I won't be purchasing Parallels now, I will have to buy PS for Mac and forget about this program. Disappointing :(

    classroom parity ruined

Without both the Mac and Windows sides able to use openGL features in Photoshop, those who use Parallels in a training environment (like me) are screwed. Some features are simply less sexy (like animated zoom), but others (like 3D) are impossible. any word if v. 7 fixes this?

I want to move my CS4 for Windows to my new Macbook. Any update on this? Does v7 fix this. Does VM Fusion v4 work?

VMWare Fusion *might* work *if* you were using a Mac Pro with an extra video card that Fusion was told to access for the VM. But the host and guest OSs each need a GPU, and the virtualized ones in Parallels and Fusion both suck for doing anything practical (I'm not counting games as practical). And so trainers like me, who can't afford a Mac Pro at every student seat either have to let down Windows users, or use Bootcamp with its own headaches...but fine performance.

Steve, thanks for the quick response. I have a slightly off-topic question for you, if you don't mind.

I'm migrating from a PC desktop to a Macbook Pro. I have both Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4. I can use my Lightroom license to load load the Mac Version. However, I cannot do the same for CS4. I'd like to install my photo files on the Mac partition. If I run the Windows CS4 on Bootcamp, will I have any problems working on the photo files on the Mac partition? I have no problem with Office for Windows running on Bootcamp working on files stored on the Mac partition.

    Thanks!

LR serial numbers have been platform agnostic, but PS not so much. You'll either have to call adobe about transferring your license or pay for another serial. It won't go on both platforms.

Steve, I understand the licensing. My question was, will CS4 on Bootcamp work ok with photo files stored on the Mac partition? Sorry about the confusion.

Ahhh. I am not sure! I use a 3rd partition or a server to get files to each, and haven't worked between installs much at all.
