Retrieve Windows 10 License

I had a virtual machine running Win 10. I had used a free license I got for having Win 8. I also have a vague memory of needing a special license for a VM?

Anyway, the image became corrupt. I have upgraded to P15 and reinstalled Win10 in a new image. Now it is asking for an activation key of course.

Is there any way to retrieve the key I originally used? Do I still need a "special" key to use it in a VM? Am I confusing two different issues?

My existing Product Key which I received when I initially purchased Parallels many years ago
Is someone trying to tell me that even though I have Windows 11 Pro installed, I need to shell out $$ for an activation key???
