Snapshot is hung and will not revert to old one

Hello,
Snapshot is hung and will not revert or shut down unless I force quit the application. Windows went into a complete freeze so I decided to revert to a snapshot done earlier in the day. The earlier snapshot is also hung. This may be a hack by a DOD or NSA level hacker; find my Facebook page if you want further clarification on that last bit. This happened before but the page to undo it is no longer showing in search results and the bookmark where I found the fix was deleted from both places it was located as well as other related bookmarks. The fix involved using activity monitor but I wan to make sure this is correct.
