Solidworks Performance Issues

Hi,

I am an industrial designer who uses Solidworks extensively and love the apple experience and have waited for the day Solidworks will make a product specifically for Mac. Until then, I have been trying to figure out how to use Solidworks with Parallels. I have recently installed Paralles 17 and am using a 2019 MacBook Pro with 64gb RAM. I now have Solidworks installed. I manually allocated 4 cores and 16gb ram to Parallels. Whenever I create anything in Solidworks it takes a very long time for the program to process my clicks and you visually start to see Solidworks tracing the objects I created. The photo kinda of shows what's happening, even though it really just looks like I have selected the object it actually traces out each line individually. It's super slow and I am unable to figure out how to get the program to run smoothly where I click something and it responds. I have tried manually allocating different amounts to the parallels hardware with no success. Any help would be great!

Hi, TaylorH2. Now, I can't remember how I did set for fluent solidworks usage because my macbook is under repair. Anyway, I think that my mac had almost same issue and I figured out it by changing graphics setting (maybe resolution related to retina display). Please try it!!!

Did you ever resolve this issue? I have OpenGI disabled, 12GB and 4 cores allocated and it still runs very slow

This doesn't help anything :-(
I know set up a new WIN10PRO VM and have still the same problem as the TO - I had the problem with the old VM, so I decided to set up a new one. But no improvements :-(
Sorry, it's solved now - I found the registry-patch for Solidworks :-)

Sorry, it's solved now - I found the registry-patch for Solidworks :)

What did you do to solve it?
Does your graphics card get recognized by Solidworks? I'm facing a problem where it isn't, which has rendered the 'RealView Graphics' feature unavailable.

I just add the registry patch...
...the box for the SW acceleration was unchecked after it - but I don't know if it way checked and gray before (I didn't checked it)
The registry patch never worked for me, Im running SW 2022-2023 version

System options -> Display -> Optimize for thin parts
-Is this enabled ? If so, SW slow down very much. In my computer: MBP M3 64 gb disabling this option the SW runs very fast and smooth.
