After updating to Parallels Build 6.011992 end of December, it says "Parallels tools are outdated". (I have MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.5 and Windows XP virtual machine.) Trying to update the tools manually doesn't show any reaction. How can I update the tools? Thank you.
@Hans Balen: thank you for the fast answer. Regrettably it doesn't really help me, because this command is exactly what I tried to do; then I answered the question "do you really want to reinstall..." with click on "yes" and then nothing (visible) happened. Then I started the Windows and chosed Parallels menu -> Virtual Machine -> Update Parallels Tools (here "reinstall" has changed to "update"). Again a question appeared "... do you want to continue?" After answering "yes" a black Windows command windows popped up but disappeared so quickly, that I coudn't read anything just ...agent.exe and then nothing else happened again. Do you have another idea how to enforce this reistallation or update? Thank you.
In the mean time the problem has been resolved: according to different suggestions in Parallels forums I deleted the Tools Application with help of the Windows Clean Up Utility. Afterwards the re-installation worked again. The question is herewith obsolete. Thank you.
toolsReinstall Wish that worked for me. People at parallels will not answer my ticket. Which, by the way, has been sent several times since 12/2010

My virtual machine was damaged also. Therefore, I had to restore a backup of the virtual machine to.
Hi there, I had the same... click the update tools key then if you go to My Computer you find that the tools appear as a virtual disk drive... double click on it to run the update... Max
