Upgrade Parallels Desktop 9 to 14

I have recently started using a mac which has parallels desktop 9 installed, however apparently this is now incompatible with Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra and won't even open. As parallels desktop 9 cannot be upgraded either due to it being outdated, if I buy a new license for parallels desktop 14 will I be able to use the version of windows that is currently installed with parallels desktop 9?
