Dual Screens flickering - NOT ONLY WITH Mountain Lion - Windows 7 - Parallels 7
I have a very close issue since I've installed ParallelsDesktop-7.0.15104.778994 and imported Windows 7 VM on a new MacBook Pro 13" mid 2012 that is still running OS X Lion 10.7.4.
Same problem with a brand new created Window 7 VM.
The external display does not fully flicker. Only the VM window flickers when placed on the external screen.
For information my MBP is connected to: Apple LED Cinema Display 24" (firmware up-to-date, this patch is supposed to solve problems between Thunderbolt MBP and LED Cinema Display 24" late 2008).
When VM window (single window mode) starts to flicker and display video failure symptoms, moving VM window from external display to MBP internal screen SEEMS to stop this crazy random behavior.
Workaround (seems to work at the moment): disable 3D acceleration or use method described in this article: kb.parallels.com/111767 (on my system VM stopped flickering at this level "video.dx_profile=4" that disables Aero).
At first glance:
- insaddingaround doesn't have a brand new mid 2012 MBP (retina or not have integrated Intel HD 4000) but installed Moutain Lion,
- I have a brand new mid 2012 MBP 13" running Lion 10.7.4.
There is probably a combination of several problems but I see at least one common point:
- to be able to install Mountain Lion: user must update to PD 7.0.15104,
- to take advantage of USB 3 (MBP mid 2012) support in Windows VM: user also has to install PD 7.0.15104.
