I really liked parallels, but is there any alternative than boot camp? that works? does this happen every time there is an update to Mac operating systems.

I've received a 'fix' from Support. But this new install is looping. See attachment.

    From Support the following:

Please execute the following command in Terminal, restart Mac and start Parallels Desktop (do not reinstall, just start)

    sudo kextcache --clear-staging

Your solution is bupkis...Starting Parallels 15 on Catalina shows
    upload_2019-11-19_21-27-10.png
It just sits there and doesn't even show the pinwheel. Have you tested this solution yourself? Because it doesn't work at all.

I've set this thread as [SOLVED] as the solution is working fine for me.

No need to use the wording as you did. Thanks.

Is there any solution to this? It's 7 months later and I still have the same problem and the posted suggestion does not work

I had to give the Parallels Desktop full disk access:
System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy tab > in the left pane click "Full Disk Access" > click the lock at bottom left > then click the + to add "Parallels Desktop.app" > when prompted click the quit now and relaunch Parallels and it should startup like normal.
Not sure why MacOS is not prompting you to allow full disk access for the app upon launch like it does for Documents, Downloads etc.

I should also add that Parallels Toolbox.app v2.6.1 seems broken under Catalina also because it causes run-a-way CPU usage. I think I got toolbox as part of a bundle with Parallels Desktop v13 but I ended up having to remove it from my Login Items (startup items/apps) to fix that. Parallels Desktop v15 did not come with the latest Toolbox v3.9 which I bet does work fine under Catalina.

Thank you Smitty25, clicking "Full Disc Access" was the step that resolved my problem.
