Build 41591 will not install

I got warning from Parallels to install the latest build, so I did. However, when it tries to install after a couple popups checking to see if Parallels was already open and there was a new version, all that happens is new parallels icon appears in the dock and it just sits there. I can't quit it, I can only force quit it.

I have tried uninstalling everything, and getting a fresh download of parallels 41591, same deal.

I have a new late 2016 13" MBP, running Sierra. Any ideas?

 

I have force quit, and completely restarted. There is no error message, just the installing parallels dialog, and a dock icon. Attached. At this point it just sits there. If I force quit, it does the same thing.

If this doesn't help: generate stand-alone problem report and post its id here. To do this at the moment the issue is being reproduced do the next command it terminal:
/Volumes/Parallels\ Desktop\ 12/Parallels\ Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prlsrvctl problem-report --send --stand-alone
Executing this command takes come time. id will be printed in the output.

Ok. Try this command in terminal:
sudo -u clint /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain system -domain local -domain user
At looks the same as in KB mentioned above but with additional option -u clint in sudo.

 

Unfortunately same issue after doing that.

I did try making a new user account, it did appear a bit different in that I got the license agreement screen, but after that it did the same thing. Future install retries behaved just like my main account.

Did you do any configurations of sudo(8) on your system? Did you modify your sudoers file?

 

I don't know that that even is I don't think I did anything. I did find a previous image with the last version of Parallels and that too will now not install. I am really lost as to what it might be.

 

Is reinstalling macOS a possible option for you?
