"Make sure that VM is in Shared Networking mode. If this doesn't help, please click Start -> Run and execute cmd.exe. Type in the appeared window command "ipconfig /all". Then, without closing the window, click Parallels Destkop menu "Help"->"Report a Problem", send a problem report (it is not necessary to provide description) and post here the report ID."

    Hi,
please describe in details what is not working. Whether it worked before upgrade to 6.0. Because in the problem-report I see that surfing the Web from VM should work ok

Unfortunately it didn't.... I did all you asked. All of this began when I switched up to Parallels 6.0. Nothing changed other than that. I've generated a new problem report in case you need it again: 6835911

Thanks for your help thus far.

    Problem resolved

I'm delighted to report that Dmitry from Parallels helped me this morning and solved the problem. Turns out that the DHCP wasn't turned on in the Sharing preferences. One click and everything works! Including accessing the Internet from Windows while using an air card with Verizon.

Where is this option? I don't see DHCP in the options on my mac or on my VM.

    It's found in Parallels preferences

Open the Preferences panel in Parallels. Then navigate: Advanced (tab)>Network: Change Settings> Shared (tab)>Check Enable IPv4 DHCP

    Having the same problem

    Hi,
I've connected to the internet using Airport on the mac. The internet on the mac side is working absolutely fine. Im running 10.6.6 on an iMac 27-inch Intel Core 2 Duo computer.

I've installed Windows XP Pro on Parallels 5. I have the Shared Networking on. And the DHCP is checked. But the internet is still not working. Initially I thought it may be a problem with my Internet Explorer settings, but I checked those and it seems to be a problem with parallels itself.

    I have a report id : 7724465

    Help !!!

    Hi,

the virtual machine doesn't have network card. You need to add it with steps like

"Stop the Virtual Machine and in the Virtual Machine Directory
    - select a Virtual Machine, click Configure
    - Under Hardware section check that Network Adapter is present in list, If it is missing, click "+" and add Network Adapter"

I run Windows 7 upgrade advisor and it tells me that the driver installed for the Parallels ethernet adapter is not compatible with Windows 7. I have also tried to update driver but it says that I have the most up to date driver. There is connectivity because things still download in the background and update. When I started the VM today it started downloading the new SP for Win7.
Here is what I get as far as network details:
    My Connection-specific DNS Suffix:
    Description: Parallels Ethernet Adapter
    Physical Address: ‎00-1C-42-A5-98-06
    DHCP Enabled: Yes
    IPv4 Address: 10.0.1.6
    IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Lease Obtained: Thursday, March 10, 2011 5:52:34 AM
Lease Expires: Friday, March 11, 2011 5:57:02 AM
    IPv4 Default Gateway: 10.0.1.1
    IPv4 DHCP Server: 10.0.1.1
    IPv4 DNS Server: 10.0.1.1
    IPv4 WINS Server:
    NetBIOS over Tcpip Enabled: Yes
    Link-local IPv6 Address: fe80::540f:3a9c:17a:2f80%13
    IPv6 Default Gateway:
    IPv6 DNS Server: fe80::21c:42ff:fe00:18%13

This by the way is in Airport bridged. I have IPv4 connectivity but there is none for IPv6. I can put it on pretty much any bridged setting and I get the same results. When I move it to shared I get no connectivity on IPv4 or IPv6. Everything works normal on the Mac side of the house.

When using Windows 7 upgrade advisor and dealing with another program (Cabela's Outdoor Adventure) it asks me to get an updated compatible version. When I select this it gives me an IE screen with this address: http://www.activision.com/swfaddress/swfaddress.html?gamepage|en_US|gameId:COA2009&brandId:Cabelas
Of course I get the IE cannot display the webpage but in the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor screen it goes to the Activision/Cabela's website.

I guess I only have one question.... How come my internet doesn't work now with P6? I am currently using Build 6.0.11992 because I am reading that the newest build isn't that great.
